Friday 17th November – bike **** Around Felixstowe – sunny with light airs.

Relaxing morning at home then as it was such a lovely day, wall to wall sunshine with light airs we made a sandwich and flask and headed out on our bikes:) We made it down to the prom just before one with the sea like a mill pool. Taking it easy along the busy prom I stopped at the wicker family in the Spa gardens to take their pic featuring new sunglasses:) Then on the road to The Dip heading back on the prom from there which was much quieter:) Past the golf course (lots of shouting of fore but not at us !!) to our favourite spot by the River Deben for our picnic. It was lovely sitting out in the sunshine and not cold at all and with the tide whizzing out there were loads of gulls on the shingle islands. A small yacht sailed out and we hoped they didn’t want to come back as they would never make it against the tide! I had to pump my tires up and got some nice pics too. We then continued onto The Ferry to have some nice chats, first with an elderly couple taking pics of the (fake) ‘Puffin’ feeling a little sad as they were missing the boat which they used to moor at the ferry but had grown too old to handle and had to get rid of ten years ago. Then we had some banter with a couple of ol’ boys in the boat yard:) We had a look around the boatyard, the new big house is coming on leaps and bounds and will look nice when finished even if a little on the large side! Heading home along the road across the golf course turning right into Ferry Lane, turning to Gulpher Lane before taking the footpath past the vibrant green wheat into the woods at The Grove. Mag spots a couple of squirrels among the pretty woods, through the town and home. It was great to be out on the bikes again, we don’t seem to be using them much at the moment:( Out a couple of hours covering eight miles, might be windy enough for a windsurf tomorrow, if not then next week is looking promising, milder too:)
